Finally, my first post and I could not have picked a better book than
Living Dead Girl."Alice" was kidnapped from the aquarium at the age of ten. Now she is 15 and continuously tortured by her abductor Ray. During the 5 years she is with Ray, Alice is sexually abused, beaten, starved, and left empty of all emotion.
Elizabeth Scott has created a terrifyingly haunting story that needs to be read. So often when we hear tales of children who have been abducted, yet wander around. We wonder why they don't free themselves.
Living Dead Girl answers the questions that those of us, who have not experienced the horror, will never understand.
I must be honest, it was hard for me to read this book, though I did not want to put it down. While it is not graphic, my heart ached for Alice.
Living Dead Girl promises to be an unforgettable novel for those who dare read it. While it is disturbing, it is the reality of so many innocent children who have fallen into the hands of predators. I applaud Ms. Scott for being brave and tackling the subject in a beautifully articulate novel.
